Pineapple tarts cookies are one of Indonesian traditional (and some neighboring countries) cookies that are commonly made and served during religious holidays such as Eid-el Fitr or Christmas along with many other traditional cookies like; kaastengelsputri saljupastel miniButter cokies or simple chocolate cookies and more.
In Indonesia it is called nastar which is the contraction of nanas tart (Ananas or pineapple tart).

Most of nastar in Indonesia have a round shape with a diameter of about 2 centimeters. The pineapple jam is filled inside instead of spread on top. The cookie is often decorated with small pieces of cloves or raisins on top of it.

We are never bored of it because we can vary it as much as we can. Just check my COOKİES CATEGORY to see my "nastar" variations. You can make many variations base on shape and filling. Adding some cheese into the dough definitely enriches the taste of this classic Indonesian cookies. 💙

Indonesia Classic beverage; #setupnanas / Setup Nanas segar dan Mudah | Çitra's Home Diary

Still in Ramazan spirit, wish you my Muslim friends Ramadan Mubarek 🙏
During Ramadan, Muslim households will fast till dusk falls and break the fast with an iftar meal.
In Indonesia mostly we make or buy snacks to enjoy during iftar, we call it Ta'jil (read; taqjeel)Ta'jil itself comes from Arabic language means to fast-breaking, so it has nothing to do with the food. But in Indonesia, the term ta'jil is becoming commonly used as an expression of usually sweet iftar appetizers. Prophet Muhammad s.a.w gave the example of eating dates as the beginning of iftar.

But in my house, no need to wait until the holiday season to have these melt-in-mouth yummy cookies. Me and family always have evening tea time just like other Turkish family~and it would be very nice to have some cookies with it, right?
So I always have jars full of some cookies and this pineapple tart cookie (nastar) is rarely empty cause I love it so much!
With a sweet slightly sour taste from homemade pineapple jam inside of melting yummy cookie dough, nothing can beat this favorite tart till now.

Black Nastar / Brown Pineapple bite for IdFB Challenge#16 Cookies

I llooovveeee making cookies...any cookies. Love to make them as much as I eat them. My family love it too. You know, in Turkey people very much love drinking tea. Anytime, any where, any occasion. Hot weather or cold weather Turkish people enjoy their tea so much.

That tea time tradition I can not avoid in our home :). Usually we drink tea together after dinner. For me, drinking tea without any snack along with it, is like going to market without money.....hahahahahha..it just can not be! Back when I was in my homeland Indonesia, I always have traditional snack along with my morning tea as breakfast. Or some cookies in my afternoon coffee :)

So, when you are visiting our house..don't worry..we always have a jar (or two) of cookies. And those jar won't be empty (almost every time) because we love our tea with cookies along with it :)

Well, today I'll share one of my family fave ... Dark pineapple tart ( I call it black Nastar) cookies. Believe me..it's so good and almost too pretty to eat :)
